Typical automatic transmissions the world
over have 2 ongoing problems:
- They are contaminated by particles
from the very first time the vehicle
is started
- They are becoming more mechanically
and electronically complex, including
the new technology of continuously variable
transmissions (CVTs) and dual clutch
transmissions, that adds even more debris
to the fluid
With increasing temperatures and continuous
use, transmission life declines. By reducing
the temperature of the fluid, the life
of the transmission is extended. Click

Life Expectancy Chart.
This contamination usually leads to poor
shifting and erratic performance, and,
ultimately, earlier failure of the transmission
itself. The only effective way to control
this very small particle contamination
is through micro filtration. Removing
these very small particles leads to a
decrease in internal wear of the transmission,
improving the performance level and extending
the overall lifetime of the transmission.
Overheating is also a major contributor
to transmission failure. Driving in hot
weather, overload, stop-and-go driving,
towing recreational vehicles, climbing
steep grades, etc., all contribute to
this overheating. Removing the fluid contamination
helps to reduce the temperature of the
fluid, thus slowing the possibility of
breakdown, as this chart demonstrates.
Because component wear is directly related
to the cleanliness level of the system
(the cleaner the fluid, the less wear),
it is important to clean the oil quickly.
Although micro filtration systems, by
design, filter only a portion of the fluid
at one time, the NTZ filter is much
more effective than others at achieving
a “clean up speed” that is
more effective and faster than competitors
(click here to see our chart – Time
To Required Cleanliness). In addition,
the NTZ filters maintain that fluid
cleanliness much more effectively than
competitors.
Ultimate Protection
With The TransProtector™
The TransProtector™ inline magnetic micro
filter for transmission and power steering
systems clean fluids more completely,
resulting in better long-term performance,
slower wear of components and extended
product life.
The TransProtector™ is constructed of
a stainless steel exterior and metal core
for a long life.
Our MicroClean filter element’s
depth-type design removes more of the
smallest particles than other inline filter
elements on the market today.
The TransProtector™ is also easy to install,
with a reverse flow safety bypass mechanism
that can prevent damage to components.
Market
Applications
NTZ transmission micro filters offer
benefits in many areas:
- OEM Passenger Vehicles &
Light Trucks – as an aftermarket
installation or in conjunction with
a rebuilt transmission
- Fleet Passenger Vehicles
- Aftermarket Passenger Vehicles
Current Projects
Ford Motor Company – NTZ Micro
Filtration provides transmission
micro filtration technology for the
Ford E-250 and E-350.
